I would like to thank all the members of ‘The Gordon Duncan Memorial Trust’ for their funding and support over this year 2025.
This years highlights in piping are as follows.
On July this year I successfully graduated from ‘The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’ with an honours degree, B Mus (Hons) Traditional Music/Piping. With the funding I have had it has helped me to continue with my lessons with my long term teacher Willie Morrison and pay for my solo piping competitions.
In addition, I have had a very successful year in solo piping around Scotland with many good results and first places. With the pinnacle being having two first places on day two at ‘The Argyllshire Gathering’ with the light music. Winning both the ‘B’ grade march and the strathspey and reel. I have been told this is the first time this has been achieved.
Secondly, In the pipe band world, I have joined ‘William wood Pipe Band’. We originated at grade 4A and have been now promoted to grade 3B. I have been promoted in the band to pipe sergeant
I hope to keep you informed with continued success in piping.
Kind regards
Bobby Allen
